Guitar instrumental music album released
Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): Dimapur-based guitar music teacher and musician Manen Jamir today released his debut instrumental album ‘Days of a New Dawn’ at Café Destination in Dimapur today, July 21, Saturday.
A function to make the release of the music album was held at the café with Additional Chief Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir as the chief guest.
Manen Jamir has a guitar music school in Dimapur and a branch in Diphu, Assam. Congratulating the musician, the chief said music and economy has to merge. For music and economy to merge, Alemtemshi Jamir stated, a community needs peace. ‘We have to have economic development; we have to have peace; we have to have economic freedom, the freedom we need for which we can help our talents to grow and prosper,’ he told the gathering at the café.
Jamir, also development commissioner of Nagaland, said the people need to start ‘defining’ freedom. He said freedom is not just political freedom such as the concept of “sovereignty” which is political freedom. “Freedom is not only ‘sovereignty’ or political freedom but also every other freedom – freedom of free speech and expression; freedom to life and freedom to prosperity…” the government official reminded.
Attending the program was also local church leaders Rev. Lanu Longchar who dedicated the album and Rev. Toshi Longchar, who said the benediction. Manen Jamir performed a song from his album. The album is now available in the city’s main music outlets.
Moa of Dimapur-based rock band Abiogenesis also spoke during the occasion giving an overview of Manen Jamir’s album.
