‘SBI Chumukedima non-functional due to power failure’

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The BJP Unit Nagaland expressed  its deep concern over the  inconveniences  created to the general public due to the non-functioning of SBI Chumukedima for the past three days w.e.f  27th July 2012 due to electricity/power failure. The BJP in a press note issued by K. James Vizo Spokesman and General Secretary wondered, how a reputed Nationalized bank like State Bank of India in an important commercial district headquarter like Chumukedima Dimapur does not have its own means of alternative power supply.

“The SBI Chumukedima is completely deserted without any customers, only the bank officials sitting idly and gossiping around. Normal daily customers of this bank were 300 to 400 in numbers. The ATM section too is partially affected”, the BJP has noted.

The Party official while interacting with the Branch Manager P.K.Roy,  learnt that the Bank is helpless if the power failure continue further. Under his initiative, few individual account payments were referred to SBI Diphupar while many customers had to return back with frustration.

Therefore, in this regard, the BJP party Spokesman cum General Secretary urged upon the concerned  higher authority to  urgently look into  this matter and immediately arrange a Generator of 15 KV capacity, so as to restore back the normal banking   and  to avoid inconveniences to the esteemed  customers in future during the power failure .
