Mon, August 8 (DIPR): In order to take assessment of the deteriorating road condition and reported landslide, along the Mon-Namtola road, the District Administration, led by SDO (C) Keyirangding Hgui along with EE (PWD) Kawang, DPRO Hongpi and DB's inspected the road on August 7. The team also met the ADC, Tizit and discussed about the poor condition of the road between Tizit and Mon. Fortunately, the landslides and potholes between Tuimei Village and Namtola were filled and cleared up by the Mohan Singh Company under the initiatives of Paiwang, candidate of Tizit, who persuaded the Company currently constructing road between Sangsa junction, Tizit and Arunachal Pradesh.

Kawang EE. (PWD) said that the concerned contractor was reluctant to work citing monsoon season; however, he disclosed that after much pursuance by the District Administration and DPBD Mon, the contractor is willing to resume the work and would be arriving on 8th August.

Meanwhile SDO (C) also disclosed that the contractors constructing 2 lane road between Mon to Merangkong, via Tamlu have reported to the District Administration to resumed their work and have also assured that they would fill up the potholes and clear all the landslides within Mon Town area.  He also appreciated the pro-active initiative taken by Paiwang and the Mohan Singh Company in filling up the potholes and clearing the road which is the life line of Mon district.
