The “banner and poster agitation” began today with posters and slogans being displayed in various locations in Dimapur. “The agitation had started in view of the government’s failure to pay the NSCU pending bills amounting to Rs. 35, 83, 68, 952 only. The NCSU Dimapur district further make its stand clear that it shall go with the head office directive to continue the agitation until and unless its demand are fulfilled,” a note from the Dimapur NCSU unit stated. The unit also questioned the government. Why could the Special Investigation Team be constituted to investigate pending bills “when it was already been verified in 2002 by District Level Verification Committee and which partial been made to the contractors.”
The unit said it shall firmly stand to “fight for our genuine rights.” The contractors and suppliers also appealed for cooperation from the civil society.
