Peducha village observes sanitation day

Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The Peducha village Council on Friday conducted a mass social work under the theme ‘Clean is Ours’ and cleaned the village and its surrounding.
The Village observed sanitation day on this particular day every year after the village received the Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) clean village award in the year 2009 especially with the establishment of the Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) under the PHED.
The village council also conducted an orientation programme and feast after the mass social work from the council hall with the invocation prayer by Pechiivilie Kruneilie pastor Peducha Baptist Church and welcome speech by Khrielie Mor council secretary.
The resources persons included Lhoujalie Shosahie, Sedeu Vielie and Pfiilhouca Kinyii and they talked on the topics - history of customary sanitation, respects and behavior, toward village development and relationship.
It was followed by special number Avikho and friends.
Meanwhile, the village council has also awarded a cash prize of Rs.15,000 to group C colony for their best performance in cleaning the village.
The programme was chaired by Thefpiiyiengu Vielie village chairman and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Neimehel Neikha vice chairman of the village council.
The Village council announced that children’s who collect waste sweets cover in the village will be awarded with Rs.20 per Kg till December 2012.
