C-Edge celebrates first freshers’ day

Students and faculty of C-Edge College celebrated the first freshers’ day on August 17 at the college premises in Dimapur. Unlike the tradition of senior students organising the programme, the freshers themselves took the active part since C-Edge is also a fresher in town. Although they were less in number, the students seemed to be proud being a part of the C-Edge family.
The principal of the college, Dr Chubatola Aier while addressing the gathering said that the college is a testimony of God’s love. “...We dreamt, we thought, we worked but it was because of God’s help.”

A word of advice
Former Director of Higher and Technical Education Edward Lotha who graced the occasion as the special guest, humourously, said that “freshers welcoming freshers” is first of a kind. He encouraged the students to excel and that there is no place for halfhearted people in this world.
Reflecting back, he said earlier there was less competition that getting a job was not a problem. However, now it‘s a different story all together. “Only the best among the good are selected.”
He also went on saying that the world has not actually come out from economic recession and no one know when the next blow will hit.

A pinch of ‘saranghae’
Jiyoung Oh, who is Korean language teacher at Tetso College, played a piano piece from the Korean movie – “The Classic”, of which according to her it is the favourite of her Naga friends.  Earlier she also beautifully played Yiruma’s River flows in you and sang a Korean blessing song too.
Encouraged the students, she advised them to be ambitious and to work hard, adding that students in Korea from an early age keep their ambition focused.
