Exodus of North Easterners a serious concern: BJP Nagaland



Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): The State BJP Unit Nagaland President Dr M.Chuba Ao telephonically contacted the chief minister of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar on August 17 at 2.30pm and appraised its deep concern on the exodus of the Northeast people from Bengaluru. The chief minister assured all possible means and measures will be taken to safeguard and protect the NE people at the city.
He stated that situation is returning to normal and is under the control of the Government. “Some vested interest elements are spreading rumors sending wrong signal creating fear psychosis through sms, mms and YouTube.”
This was informed here in a press statement issued by Spokesman and General Secretary BJP Nagaland K. James Vizo. It stated that the State President also called upon the state Home Minister R. Ashoka at 4.00 pm the same day, the HM said that Bengeluru is a peaceful city and he reaffirmed that strong action will be taken against those responsible for spreading rumors. Security forces are fully alerted throughout the city.
Both the Chief Minister and the Home minister appealed to the people of NE not panic and urged them not to leave the city, the Government will do its best to protect them.
The BJP Nagaland state Unit Spokesman K.James Vizo lamented: “…it has been 65 years since India got independence but still there exists the indifferent attitude upon the NE people by the mainstream   of India. This is very sad and unfortunate. Being a part of India the NE people should be treated equally at par with rest of the country.  We should have the freedom to live, study and work at any part of India we wish without any threat and intimidation from any quarter.”
Meanwhile , the party urged the Central Government and the concern state Governments wherein the NE people are threatened to seriously  view the sensitive issue very tactfully and dealt it on top urgency, If things goes out of control it could led to serious repercussion.

The Nagaland state BJP Unit will continue to co-ordinate with the Government of Karnataka for the welfare and for the safety of NE people especially the Naga brothers and sisters of Bengaluru. Also the Nagaland state BJYM has vehemently condemned the barbaric act and inhuman harassment meted out to Northeastern people recently in Bangalore, Pune, Maharashtra and Karnataka. In the meantime, The President, BJYM Nagaland State Lima Longchar has reiterated to request the concerned Government authority to take a special initiative measures in safeguarding the Northeastern people irrespective of big or small.
The Nagaland State BJYM has also conveyed appreciation to the BJP ruled State(s) for taking the responsibility in hand of prevailing tension situation which has subside to certain extend. Meanwhile, the State BJYM appeal to all concern citizens of India to maintain peace and harmony also maintain respect and love among each other. It is also worth mentioning that the false propagandas and monger rumors through any sort of electronic media should never be encourage and has to stop immediately. While urging the law enforcer to strictly dealt with the defaulters and severely be punished.
