BJP on NCSU pending bill
Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): The State BJP Unit Nagaland on the Government constituted (SIT) Special Investigation Team to verify the claims of Rs 35.83 crore pending bills to be paid to the NCSU members stated that when this issue was raised during March Assembly session, it was assured by the ruling benches that the pending bills will be cleared. Subsequently in July 10th 2012, the State Cabinet meeting had maintained that they have released all NCSU pending bills during the year 2009 and previous years, and henceforth unless the claims of Rs 35.83 crore liabilities are properly verified and found to be genuine by SIT, the pending bills will not be paid. This was stated in a press note issued by K. James Vizo, Spokesman and General Secretary BJP Nagaland.
The note further stated, “The party wonders, if it is another delay tactic or the Government’s inability to pay for the work executed due to deficit budget? If there were some anomalies, partial payments should not have been released in the first place. The credibility of (DLVC) District level committee constituted during 2002 has been demeaned. The Contractors who have executed the hard works should not be harassed by withholding their well deserved payments”. Therefore, BJP Nagaland urged the Government to use its wisdom and clear the NCSU pending bills at the earliest.
