Peren handloom expo underway
Jalukie, August 22 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner Peren Senti Ao inaugurated the Special Handloom Expo organised by Directorate of Industries & Commerce Nagaland Kohima founded by Ministry of Textile Government of India at Jalukie town from August 21to 25. In his inaugural speech, he appreciated the department for organising such programme that women in Peren district can expose their talent, he advised some tips like choosing and combination of colour, good designs at reasonable price with SHG trademark in their products. Earlier Tokugha Achumi General Manager DIC Peren chaired the programme. Introduction of participants by Alum Inspector DIC Peren. Short speech on behalf of SHGs by Haimaliu, Chairperson Tonsu SHG Peren. Lalsomkim, Functional Manager DIC Peren, delivered vote of thanks. Around 20 SHGs are participating in the expo.
NPF Chizami meet held
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front unit of 17th Chizami constituency met on August 18. In his address, MLA Deo Nukhu emphasized on the importance of the party’s workers and urged them to ‘be disciplined, hard working but most importantly be loyal and respect the party’s authority.’ “To be loyal, one must not criticize their own party leaders foolishly or by influence, but protect and speak good of the party. He also advised the NPF Youth office to re-organize the Youth Wing of all the villages under 17th Chizami A/C by inclusiveness of women cadres so as to strengthen the NPF Party at the grass-root level,” the unit quoted Nukhu in a press release received here today. Also, the 17th Chizami unit had “open consultation and consent” with all the village representatives of the constituency and unanimously resolved to support the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Dr. Shurhozelie and the candidature and Deo Nukhu.
