CTA appeals government to solve power crisis, CTYO to stage protest
Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The Chumukedima Timber Association has appealed the State government to solve the power supply problem in the state or it would “go for any action”.
The association in a note addressed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland and Minster of Power stated that the public of Dimapur district are suffering due to "power failure & load shedding and at the same time timber industry is going through a tough time due to erratic power supply since it is effecting timber production and business.
The CTA further stated in the note: “...the billing is coming so much high whereas we are not getting sufficient power. (sic)”
The note was appended by the associations’ president Kiviho Zhimomi and secretary for information and publicity G Sema.
On the same issue, the Chumukedima Town Youth Organisation (CTYO) in a separate press note issued by its president Vibu Medoze stated that CTYO has resolved to hold a peaceful protest by picketing the offices of Power Department on August 24, within Chumukedima town jurisdiction from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon.
It has requested the Business establishments to close down their shops and cooperate by participating in the protest. It has also appealed the public to extend cooperation, the note stated.
