Dimapur DPDB advance Christmas postponed

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Hushili Sema has informed that due to unavoidable circumstances, the Dimapur DPDB meet cum advance Christmas scheduled on December 13 has been postponed to December 18 at 11:00 am at Green Park, 4th mile Dimapur. All members have been requested to take a note of the change of date and attend the programme.

40th NCSA conference on Dec 14

Kohima, December 11 (DIPR): The Nagaland Civil Service Association will be holding its 40th Annual General Conference on December 14 at 11:00 AM at Hotel Vivor, Kohima. The Chief Secretary, Nagaland, Lalthara IAS will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest of the morning session. The business session will commence at 16:00 Hrs which will be followed by a Dinner hosted in honour of the Chief Guest. The Government has approved for 75% of NCS Officers from the Districts to attend the Conference.

Doshehe to inaugurate 33/11KV sub station

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): Minister for power Doshehe Y. Sema will inaugurate 33/11KV Sub-Station at Jakhama town on December 13 at 11:00 AM. The function will be chaired by Er. Khose Sale, superintending engineer, Department of Power. Project background will be highlighted by Er. K. Miachieo, additional chief engineer &HoD, department of power. Vote of thanks will be proposed by Er. Kasho Chishi, executive engineer, transmission division Kohima.

Free cataract surgery at Phek

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): District Health Society Phek (NPCB) conducted free cataract surgery with IOL implantation camp from November 20 to 23 at CHC Meluri. District Media Officer, Phek in a press release stated that altogether 17 cataract surgeries with I.O.L implantation and 4 minor surgeries were done by Dr. Imna Pokim Eye Surgeon and Nodal Officer (NPCB) Phek. Nurses and OT attendant from District Hospital Phek were also attended in the surgery camp.

Jalukie ‘B’ distributes Christmas stars

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): As a mark of Christmas wish and goodwill to all its Church members, well-wishers, Government officials and public leaders, more than three hundred stars were distributed in a grand occasion, Saturday, December 1 by “Hangraima”, Men’s Fellowship of Baptist Church Jalukie ‘B’. Hahube, Chairman of the fellowship in a press release stated that the distribution of stars by the Church is to signify observance, in true sense with preparedness, the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, this year 2012. The Church also whishes all Churches of Peren district in general to renew and uphold the principle of love, peace and harmony with the coming of Christmas. The distribution observance begun with a prayer and blessing by Rev Nginrai, Pastor of the Church.

Kerala Club celebrates Pre-Christmas

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): The Kerala Club Kohima celebrated the advent of Christmas on December 1 at Kohima. The programme was presided over by its President K. Issac and Rev Fr. Varghese P. Joshua, Vicar of Kerala Christian Church Kohima, delivered Christmas message.  AK Prem Kumar, Finance Secretary, delivered vote of thanks. Carol singing, tree-decorating, Santa Claus and Dinner were the highlights of the celebration.  A two-minute silence was also observed in remembrance of former Prime Minister IKGujral who passed away on November 30.

Kiphire dist observes New Born Care Week

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): In commemoration of New Born Care Week and Child Health Review, a one day orientation/briefing was held at IDSP Conference room, Chief Medical Office, Kiphire on December 6. Dr. Yankho Lotha, Chief Medical officer and Medical officers of Kiphire District and IEC personnel attended the program. Dr. Kibang, District Program Officer (RCH & UIP) was the resource person. He briefed the participants on New Born Care in Hospitals and Home based delivery, Immunization and JSSK entitlement followed by group discussion. IEC personnel were also briefed on the advocacy program on IPC activities which will be carried out in Seyochung/Sitimi and Pungro Block (2villages each).

KMC annual inter-ward competition

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): All the wards under the jurisdiction of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) have been informed that the annual inter-ward prize distribution-cum-pre-Christmas celebration will be held on December 15 at 3:00 PM at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima. The prize of the annual inter-ward competition on cleanliness, beautification and nativity is as follows; Ist: Rs. 50,000 with running trophy, 2nd- Rs. 30,000 with running trophy and 3rd prize- Rs. 15,000 with running trophy. Stating this in a release, KMC chief executive officer Elizabeth Ngully requested all the panchayat chairman/secretaries and GBs in all the 19 wards to attend the function.
 
Mass wedding at Thetsümi village

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): A mass wedding (12 couples) will take place Thetsümi village on December 14 at 11:00 AM at Thetsümi Local Ground. Meanwhile, the Thetsümi Village Council and Thetsümi Baptist Church invited all well wishers to be part of the programme and witness the mass wedding.

NU VC conferred business school awards

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 11 (MExN): Professor BK Konwar, the Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University has been awarded “the 20th Business School Affaire & Dewang Metha Business School Awards” on November 24, 2012 in Mumbai for his outstanding contribution to education. He is one of the few vice-chancellors to receive such prestigious award among those vice-chancellors of the Indian Universities where courses on management education are being offered. This award was sponsored and presented by Hindustan Unilever Limited, supported by Hexaware Technologies, Deloitte Onward Technologies Limited and endorsed by WEC, CMO Asia. This was stated in a press release issued by NU Department of Management Studies Head incharge Ditalak Mpanme.

Panel discussion on energy conservation

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): In commemoration of the “National Energy Conservation Day,” the Chief Electrical Inspectorate as the Nagaland State Designated Agency (NSDA) for Energy Conservation in the state invited all the citizens of the state to attend the panel discussion on energy conservation on December 14 at 11:00 AM at the Zonal Council Hall, Kohima. The intention is to equip the public with the knowledge and skills on energy conservation, realize its value to create awareness among the general public, students, companies, organizations, departments and institutions. This was stated in a release issued by Er. K. T. Wabang Ao, chief electrical inspector, Nagaland State Designated Agency, Nagaland, Kohima.

AAY food-grains

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): The office of the Assistant Director of Food & Civil Supplies, Kohima informed all the FPS/Village Councils of Kohima Centre that the AAY food-grains for two months will be released from December 13 to 15 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. In this connection, the concerned FPS/village councils have been directed to collect their respective quota within the stipulated period. This was stated in a released issued by Kapenlo Thong, assistant director, food & civil supplies, Kohima.
