Whitee Bible College holds 9th graduation prog

DIMAPUR, APRIL 20 (MExN): Graduates and parents were all smiles as the Withee Bible College, Dimapur held its 9th graduation programme at the college campus on April 20. The event kicked off with a prelude and an academic procession, with Rev Dr Cikheshe Chishi, Founder /Principal of the college delivering the welcome address.
This was followed by scripture readings by Lecturers, Katoshe Aye and Simanta Singh. The 2013 graduation class then presented a song. In the valedictory speech by S Okalo Kithan, she expressed gratitude on behalf of the graduating class to the college. She expounded on the College and Principal’s contribution to their spiritual development. Reminiscing her stay at the college, she asserted that the college had moulded them to carry forward the word of God. A special song was then presented by the third year batch of B.th and B.miss class.

The graduation speaker for the day was Rev Hotokhu P Jimomi, Executive Secretary of the Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu. In his address, he called upon the students to be humble and emphasized on the need to keep up the zeal to spread the word of God. He also expounded on the spread of Christianity in different parts of the country by stating the Christian welfare activities have been emulated by people of other faiths as well. He further commented on the changing social conditions and urged the students to not be drawn away from their true path.

This was followed by the ceremony of awarding the degrees by the Principal and the Academic Dean. Annual awards were also awarded to the graduates. The different individual awards included, the Principal Award, Kahkeli V Chishi Award, Late Hovili V Chishi Award and the Late Zhesheli Swu Memorial Award. A commissioning prayer was pronounced by the Principal while the benediction was delivered by the Speaker for the event. The entire gathering was then led by the Graduating class to the refreshment area.
It may be noted that Withee Bible College is affiliated to the Senate of Indian Institute of Missionology and is an associate member of Asia
Theological Association.
