CTC bans sale of poultry products
Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): In view of reports of poultry epidemic in the neighbouring states, Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) has banned the sale and import of live poultry and its products from out side, as per Government notification. “This order has been passed in the interest and welfare of the public and shall come into effect from December 16 and shall remain in force till further notification,” stated Neichiu-u Kuotsu, Chairperson of CTC in a press note.
Mokokchung bans fire crackers
Mokokchung, December 16 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Bendangkokba, has issued an order banning sale and use of fire crackers within Mokokchung town. The order issued in the interest of ‘public peace and tranquility’ will be enforced with immediate effect till further orders. However, for special occasions, use of fire crackers may be permitted on the condition that prior approval is obtained from the district authority, stated the DC. Violation of this order will be dealt with as per provision of the law, stated an order issued by Bendangkokba Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung.
NLSF 4th general conference held
Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): The 4th general conference of the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation was held at ATI complex, Kohima, from December 11 to 12 last, under the theme, “Master your Profession,” with Governor K Shankaranarayanan as chief guest. The federation also elected its new executives with, Heroto K Chishi as president, L Hutoka Assumi as vice-president and Nupahoto Aye as general secretary. This was stated in a press note issued by T Lima, president, NLSF.
DTE express gratitude to NSCN/GPRN
DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 16 (MExN): The Dimapur Tsungiki Ekhung and Rev. Shihoto, member of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) conveys deep appreciation to the UT-1 and Lotha Region, NSCN/GPRN for releasing Zuchobemo Kikon, son of Lichio Kikon, of Tsungiki village, from their custody, unharmed. The press note issued by Hachumo Kikon stated that the union and FNR wanted to take the opportunity to encourage the NSCN/GPRN for the positive step it has undertaken and also conveyed its wishes for a fruitful talk at Chingmai, Thailand for ‘peace, unity, integrity and prosperity over Naga soil’.
Tsg VHC members on tour to Mkg
Mokokchung, December 16 (MExN): A one day Exposure Trip of Tuensang Village Health Committee (VHC) members was conducted during which the team, numbering about 40 persons, visited Aliba Village Sub-Center and Kumlong Ward Sub-Center under Mokokchung District on December 13, 2008. During their itinerary exposure, they had interactions in a series of meetings between the two districts’ VHC members and also exchanged views in order to improve smooth running of the Sub-Centers. Short speeches and exhortations were also delivered on ‘meaning and utilization of communitization’ from both sides of the districts at the meeting. The whole programme of exposure trip was undertaken under the supervision of Dr. S.S. Akaba, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, informed an official press note issued by DPRO Mokokchung.
