MPC vanquishes MDCA in friendly

Mokokchung, February 17 (MExN): Giving a good fight-back to the Mokokchung
District Cricket Association (MDCA) the Mokokchung Press Club today vanquished
the MDCA in the second exhibition match held on the final day of the T20
Tournament at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex here today. This is the second
exhibition match between the MPC and the MDCA – the first match was held on
April 23, 2011 on the theme ‘Fostering Friendship’ where MDCA won the match
in an easy manner. This year’s theme of the exhibition match was on the theme
‘Here for Cricket’, and the Mokokchung scribes showed that they were really
here for cricket as they toppled the formidable MDCA with a five wicket victory.
The MDCA who batted first were restricted to 103 runs all out. The MPC players
put some exception play and with the loss of five wickets and easily crossed the
run target in fourteen overs. Meanwhile, the MDCA also presented a memento to
the Man of the Match to Waluniba from the MPC. A Souvenir and certificate was
also presented to the MPC by the MDCA. The MPC president expressed happiness to
the MDCA for holding the exhibition and also expressed deep appreciation to
those who have rendered their help and support towards the exhibition match. He
expressed hope that the exhibition match would help in fostering friendship in
the society and also help in the development of cricket in Mokokchung. After the
match, a ‘Friendship Feast’ sponsored by the MPC was held at the rostrum
where members of the MPC and officials and players of the MDCA had a grand
feast.
