Team Special Olympics Nagaland triumph with 18 medals
The team of athletes from Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) at the first National Games (for all disabilities) in Chennai.
Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): A team of athletes from Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) made their mark at the first National Games (for all disabilities) in Chennai from February 17 to 22. The games was to showcase the abilities of the children with special needs, where they compete at National level after marking their grounds at district and state level meets.
Altogether 16 persons including four coaches went to Chennai to participate in the National Games which include members from Nagaland Blind School, St. Mary Montessori Special class, Prodigal Homes and Guardian Angels all from Dimapur including some deaf athletes from Mokokchung. The team won 18 medals which include six gold, eight silver and four bronze.
The team was lead by Chief Coach of SON, Amongla Aier along with three other coaches. Special Olympics Bharat-Nagaland (SON) strives to promote games & sports amongst the physically and the intellectually challenged people of the State. SON congratulates all the successful special athletes for making this historic step for the state Chapter.
