Player in Focus
Amir Lama, the Darjeeling born striker is predominantly a right footed player with an equally effective left foot. Gifted with pace and power, he forms a lethal partnership upfront with fellow striker David for Dimapur United FC. Amir scored a hat trick in his last outing against New Market FC with some clinical finishes. Like every good striker, he gets himself into good goal scoring positions and is a constant threat to opposition’s defense.
Amir, in his post-match interview revealed his hunger to score goals and expressed his satisfaction in guiding his team to victory. He was also delighted to be involved in the first edition of the Nagaland Premier League and hopes to make a name for himself and the club in the days to come. An avid fan of Indian football maestro Baichung Bhutia, he is one of the players from a different state. The well built 22 year old was plying his trade in Kolkata for Easter Railways before signing for Dimapur United. The 5’9” front man has scored four goals in three matches and he would be looking to maintain the consistency and add more goals to his tally. Dimapur United’s fortunes will depend a lot on this key player if he manages to stay fit during the course of the season.
