Veteran Club to host First Friendship Trophy 2012

Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): Preparation is on to host the First Friendship Trophy 2012 (Tennis ball), starting April 10, 2010 at Medziphema under the theme “Friendship through Sports”. This cricket tournament is being organized by Veteran Club, Medziphema. Lipok Pongen, Secretary, NPF, Nagaland has consented to be the chief guest during the opening ceremony.
A press note issued by Jon Bendang, Veteran Club, Medziphema informed that the tournament will be based on league match system, and teams as far as from Kohima have confirmed their participation and the organizers expects this tournament to be one of the biggest cricket tournament to be held in Medziphema. Last date of submission of forms will be April 9, from 10:00am. Fixture will be made on the same day at 3:00pm at the venue so all the team representatives should be present for the fixture and other necessary discussions. The champions will be offered a cash of Rs. 20,000/ - along with special traditional trophy and citations followed by Rs.10, 000/ -, trophy and citations to the runner up. There will be a cash prize for fair play award, special citations to the man of the match from quarter finals, cricket bat and citation to the Best batsman and trophy and citation to the best bowler and a Nokia mobile handset plus citation to the man of the series.
The note also mentioned that this tournament is being co-sponsored by - Retouch Computers, KIM Concept, Galham Arts, Renovate Parlour, Moon Store, S.K Provisions.
