NMA wishes Chekrovulu Swuro; fetes Major Neikhrie Linyu

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Naga Mothers Association (MNA) has drawn upon the attention of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister of Nagaland to acknowledge the achievements of Chekrovulu Swuro and the distinction of being selected to participate as the first Naga individual Olympian and initiate to reward and encourage her with a promotion at least to the Rank of DSP in the interest of Nagas in the field of Sports.

NMA President, Abeiu Meru and general secretary Lochumbeni Humtsoe in a press statement conveyed its deepest appreciation to Chekrovulu Swuro for her selection to represent the Country in the 2012 Olympics in London. “Her perseverance and achievements at the National and International level in the field of Archery has brought pride to Naga Women as a whole. On the eve of her departure to the Olympics, the NMA on behalf of all Naga Women wish our daughter every success and pray that the Almighty God will guide and lead her to bring more laurels to the Country and the Naga People,” the Association stated.  

Meanwhile, the Naga Mothers Association has also congratulated Major Neikhrie Linyu for being not only the first Naga Woman but the first Naga to climb Mount Everest. The NMA wishes her success and God’s blessings in her future endeavours, both in her profession as an Army Officer as well as her Spirit and Determination to achieve greater things in life. The NMA also conveyed their appreciation to the parents of Major Neikhrie Linyu who have encouraged their daughter to tread the untrodden paths and make a success of her daring achievements.
