East Zone Sainik School championship

Kohima, July 26 (DIPR): East Zone Sainik School championship title of the country was held from July 16 to 20 at Sainik School Purulia, West Bengal under the aegis of Sainik School Society Ministry of Defence, New Delhi.

In a fierce sports tournament played were football, basket ball and volley ball while other competitions included cultural show, debates, anchor, essay writing and quiz. Taking part from our own home town was the Sainik School Cadets from Punglwa, Nagaland who participated in various competition events held. Among the several laurels brought home by the Cadets were runners up in football, basket ball, best fair play, best basketball player bagged by Cadet Vikehetuo Yhokha, best anchor bagged by Cadet Chiede Khalo, Best performer bagged by Cadet Hukito in variety entertainment programme and 2nd in English debate bagged by Cade Akash Krishnan.

The upcoming Cadets of Sainik School Punglwa compete in the East Zone championship every year and brings laurels to the State and head to the All India Inter-Zonal championship.
