Nagaland: 49 arrested for lockdown violation

Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha, IAS today informed that 49 persons were arrested, 39 FIRs were lodged under section 188 I.P.C and 1 FIR under section 106/107 CrPc on April 1 for violation of lockdown orders in the State.

 

“No fine has been imposed and no vehicle has been seized. Also, no law and order incidents have been reported in the State,” the DIPR quoted the Nagaland Home Commissioner as stating during briefing on the law and order status of the State.

 

On the supply of essential goods and services, he informed that control rooms have been setup to monitor the essential supplies in all the 11 districts of the State. Shops for food grains and groceries were opened in all the districts except for Dimapur. Shops were regulated in Mokokchung and in Kiphire, shops open only on alternate days. Shops for milk and medicine were also opened in all the districts other than Dimapur. No shortage of food grains, groceries, milk and medicine has been reported in the State.

 

He added that no restrictions were imposed the on movement of commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and service providers like electricity, telecommunication, fuels etc. in the State.  In Dimapur, restriction was imposed on the movement of e-commerce agents. The Dimapurdistrict administration has established a community kitchen and food has been distributed with the help of NGOs. Permits were issued to vehicles for transportation of essential commodities.
