NPCC members join in peace march in Delhi
Dimapur, September 1 (MExN): Against the backdrop of the violence against minority Christians in Orissa, the All India Congress Committee Legal and Human Rights Department organized a peace march in Delhi on Friday at Gandhi Samiti, near India Gate against the violation of Human rights in the name of religion in different parts of the country, especially Orissa.
A press release received here today informed that a three member Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) delegates led by NPCC President, K. V. Pusa participated in the march along with General Secretary Supongmeren, Ex-MLA and Treasurer Panna Lal.
“The peace march was organised by Ranji Thomas, Secretary I/c Nagaland, which was also attended by Oscar Fernandes, Union Minister and Tara Gandhi, grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi,” the release stated. A memorandum was also submitted to Justice S. Ranjendra Babu, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission on Kashmir, Orissa and Gujarat seeking justice and shunning violence in the name religion, the release added.
