First Piano Competition a boost for Nagaland music industry



Kohima | November 16 : Adding another feather to music industry in Nagaland, Casio (I) Ltd in association with Unitex.inc, Kohima today provided a platform to the youths to expose their hidden talents by organizing first ‘Piano Competition under the theme “Magic Fingers” here at the Conclave Conference Hall, LCS Building. The competition featured three categories; Beginners – up to Grade 3, Intermediate – Grade 4 to Grade 6, and Advanced Grade 7 and upwards
Gracing the opening ceremony, Gugs Chishi, Project Director, Music Task Force was appreciative of the move and termed it as unique platform. Also asserting that the government cannot do alone, he called for public private partnership to promote music in the state. “We want to take music ahead,” he said and at the same time acknowledged Casio (I) Ltd for bringing such promotional event to Kohima. He was also optimistic that the competition will groom and sharpen the talented youths to shine in the field of Piano.
Officials from Casio said that it does a lot of promotional events, adding that north eastern states has always been special for them in terms of business and promotional activities. Also lauding the state’s government effort towards promotion of music industry in the state, he also assured all possible support from Casio in the coming days as well. He was also hopeful that the competition will encourage the Piano lovers to improve upon and take it further. Chairing the function, Neingulie Nakhro Managing Director, Unitex inc said the competition was aim to provide an exposure to piano lovers in the state. He informed the gathering that the state government was all out to support the musicians, adding that even Piano sector is not left out. Nakhro also looks forward to a greater partnership with the government to see many more things happen.
Meanwhile, the public can also avail attractive discounts on offer on purchase or bookings of any keyboards or Digital Pianos on spot purchase during the two day event. Casio (I) Ltd is sponsoring prizes over Rs. 70,000 which includes Casio Keyboards, Casio watches, Casio Digital cameras among others. The grand finale will take place on November 17.
