Tamenglong body counters Wangoi NGO

Imphal, November 18 (NNN): Nungba Citizens’ Council (NCC), Tamenglong district, Manipur has raised an objection towards the reported proposal of special project for skill development to rural BPL youth under SGSY in Tamenglong district, submitted to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India (GOI) by an NGO based in Imphal. The Nungba Citizens' Council alleged that the Imphal based NGO in question is Community Development Society (CDS), Wangoi.
In a move to counter the NGO, the NCC has submitted a letter to the joint secretary, Ministry of Rural Development to reject the proposal and also to revoke the approval by the Ministry of Rural Development in the larger interest of the general public. According to M. Hoinailung, chairman of NCC and its M.S Franky, general secretary, there is no such activities of  CDS in Tamenglong district.
The NCC leaders said  in view of the people of Tamenglong district, taking advantage of such unrecognized society in tribal rural area was strongly condemned and would not be allowed.
