Kohima, November 21 (MExN): Altogether 15 bands from outside the state have been selected for the forthcoming Hornbill National Rock Contest 2009 in December this year. The bands are Abraxas (Pune), Baraka, (Darjeeling), Chronic Xorn (Kolkata), Cynical Recess (Kolkata), Hypnosis (New Delhi), Inferno (Mumbai) Kanglasha (Manipur), Lucid Recess (Guwahati), Phobia (New Delhi), Pip of the Fourth Mother (Shillong), Silverscreen, (Kolkata), Slain (Bangalore), Sonstroke (Bangalore), Stacy’s Penitence (Mizoram) and The Pot, Stone and Blues (Ahmedabad). The winning band will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 5 Lakh sponsored by Airtel while the first runners-up and second runners-up will get Rs. 1.50 Lakh and Rs. 1 Lakh respectively. Individual prizes will also be there.
