NSCN (IM) warns extortionists



Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has warned individuals who are extorting money from the people by using its name. “Unscrupulous persons extorting through bogus demand notes/letters in the name of Ministry of Chaplee (IM) are sternly warned to stop the bogus trend immediately or face dire consequences,” Q Awomi Secretary, GPRN, Ministry of Chaplee stated in a press note.
The note stated that the ministry is aware of the situation that certain persons are allegedly extorting money from businessmen/individual by issuing demand letters in the name of Ministry of Chaplee, NSCN (IM) in and around Dimapur City.
It added that the Chaplee Ministry has not endorsed any sort of demand notes/letters to businessmen or individual except the annual tax and 5% mandatory tax. In relation to that it has informed the businessmen/individuals not to entertain and yield to any sort of demand notes/letters except the annual tax and 5% tax. Moreover, the Ministry of Chaplee has also stated that it will not be responsible if any individual/businessmen succumb paying to unauthorized demand notes/letters.

Extortionist are those who grabbed the contract works and other pety schemes for villagers in the name of fund for freedom struggle and construct their palaces in Ukhrul, dimapur, Kohima etc. They should be the first one to stop. I don't know to whom you are warning. Please clarify your warning.
