Ibungo Sougrakpam Bhubon of NRC will no doubt assit you in this. Please do contact him: at (0091)9862039880.He is a very busy person but is another Ireibak Nungsiba meeni.
The objective of this monograph was to give a chance to let the chidren of the land to know some thing of the history of their land, and to strengthen their knowledge of the English language, as it is the only international language which does not stop at Dehli airport, and most importatly for them and even for others of a much riper age to know that we were literate and had all along a very highly developed script which was forced out and kept as a lathup in hiding , nay even faced eradication , hidden by some so called Pundits , not genuine Maichous, for some personal agenda.
The teacher will need for instructions a copy of Vol.1 of the Kumpapa. which is distributed by CUP India. I am not sure if the RK book shop which is their Imphal agentk or could order on demand. Please do contact them.
Story of the Mmayek Ms.
I went to meet Pabung Ngariyanbam Kulachandra (2000 CE) , with the help of Ibungo Sougrakpam Sopen (History section) when Ibungo Bhubon was the Chairman of NRC,during a very criticl period Manipur faced from the occupying Indian Army, who searched even civilian women passengers in the public transports (by male army with guns with live amunition.Under such stressful situation we met Pabung Kulachandra.
We introduced ourselves. Expressed the purpose of our visit. Pabung replied ''Meetei Chanu , nahakpu ngairaklibase kuirabanine , se se louro louro.'' I had no words . My heart was full.
He allowed me to make a photo copy of the complese set of the Kumpapa Ms in the Mayek. In this very delicate and time comsuning work Nameirakpam Irabanta of NRC and Ngariyanban Khomba Pabung's son who assisteed irabaanta, gave their many hours of devotion as they also are Ireibak Nungsiba mees. I am grateful to both Irabanta, Khomba of the many trips they made and to all my NRC friends.
I had known Pabung since my thesis in ANU, Australia and he called me then Meetei Chanu. We also met many times since then while working on the book 'Meetei Lai Haraoba'. I had no idea even then that Pabugn Kulacahndra had the only genuine and authentic copy of the Chritharon Kumpapa which had been sealed with the State seal, by the last Meetei king himself, in the presence of some of his selected courtiers, in the palace and th4en entrusted it to Pabung Kulcahndra. Pabung kulachandra surely had
his reasons for his long wait.
And all the while I was using a trnslitarated copy of the Kumpapa in the Bengali script, based on a spurious Ms. rigged with bits and peices without reference of their sources, aimed for specific agenda and published by the Manipur Shahitya Parishad. I regret I was misled. Let us hope Pabung Ngariyanbamm Kulachandra' Ms. corrects it and no children of the l ever be misled again.
I felt extremely humbled then (2000 CE) , and as I ponder over it now , as I work on the Ms .even now, I feel much more humbled than I ever felt before, at the meaning of such loving trust Pabung had on me and on the ever increasing weight the trust carries with it.Pabung Ngariyanbam Kulachndra crried it on his person twenty-four hours a day; and I ,in hounour of such a Yireibak nungsiba Pabung,in all my humility and and in God's loving grace pray that, I would be given the courage to carry my responsibility for Eternity for Yireibak, yiron and Yiyek.
Saroj Nalini Arambam Parratt.
