Farmers’ Clubs organise soil testing methodology programme
Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Meet the Expert Programme on “Methodology of collection of samples for Soil Testing” was organized by four farmers’ clubs at Dhansiripar on February 6.
The four clubs includes - Dhansiripar village Farmers’ Club, Doyapur village Farmers’ Club, Amaluma village Farmers’ Club and Goneshnager village Farmers’ Club in Dhansiripar Block through Dimapur Main Branch of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank under Farmers’ Club Programme.
Moreover, the Prodigals’ Home promoted four farmers’ clubs through Dimapur Main Branch of Nagaland State Cooperative Bank under Farmers’ Club Programme, stated a press note received here.
It also stated that agricultural experts from KVK, Dimapur and Soil Conservation Department, Dimapur attended the programme and imparted training on the methodology of collection of samples for soil testing and analysis to 112 farmers from the four farmers’ clubs of Dhansiripar Block. Imtisenla Walling, scientist of KVK, Dimapur took a session various aspects of soil sample collection for soil test. She also elaborated the method of soil sample collection with practical demonstration in the nearby field.
Moreover, Dr. Anamika, Program Coordinator, KVK has also emphasized on the importance of Soil Testing for better production and productivity of various crops and horticulture plantation. Hkeishe of Soil and Conservation Department, Dimapur took up a session on Analysis of soil and stressed upon the presence of proportionate nutrients in the soil for healthy growth of crops and plants. He also conducted a test for the soils collected from the nearby field.
M. K Mandal, DGM, NABARD, Nagaland Regional Office witnessed the programme as an observer and mentored the various sessions with prospective inputs on soil sample collection for testing and analysis, the press note stated.
