‘Village gate gives sense of belongingness, security’

Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Minister for Soil & Water Conservation and Land Resources, Nagaland P. Longon inaugurated the village gate of Toluvi village as the chief guest on February 8.
To mark the occasion a simple function was organized at the residence of Chairman, Toluvi Village Council wherein, the chief guest addressed the villagers. He said that village gate is not only identity of the village but also give a sense of belongingness and security and therefore it is important for villages to have gate. He appreciated the village for erecting the gate, informed a press note issued by the Chairman of Toluvi Village.
Stressing on the need to maintain peace and tranquility in the society, Longon urged the villagers not give into anti-socials that destroys the fabric of a peaceful society but to play a role in ensuring peace and unity in the society and also set good example for others to follow. Moreover, as a token of love he donated a sum of Rs. 1 lakh towards the village fund. He was given a warm welcome by the villagers, the note stated.
