Naga orgs support proposed zoological park

Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): All Naga civil organizations with the Nagaland Forest department had undertaken a stand to support and protect the proposed zoological park. The Forest Department of Nagaland, the Naga Hoho, the Naga Council and the Naga Students’ Federation met on March 19 in Dimapur and decided on protecting and preserving the Nagaland Zoological Park reaffirming the resolution of September 2005 at Rangapahar.
“All the three civil societies, Naga Council, Naga Hoho and NSF have expressed their appreciation to the department for the initiatives taken to share their problems and have assured them their best support in protecting, development and management of Nagaland Zoological Park,” a copy of the meeting’s decision, stated. The copy further stated it was also resolved that the civil organisations will volunteer to have discussions with the villagers surrounding Nagaland Zoological Park to solve “the problem” and appraise them of the ground realities. The department and the district administration would be apprised of the needful for further action, it was informed.
