Dmr gas agencies emergency meet on June 26
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council in a press note has informed the gas agencies under Dimapur Municipal jurisdiction that there will be an emergency meeting at DMC Conference Hall on June 26 at 11:00 am. The meeting has been called to deliberate on the shortage of LPG gas in Dimapur. Therefore, the proprietors of the agencies are requested to attend the meeting positively.
Guv to grace Climate Change seminar
Kohima, June 24 (MExN): Governor Nikhil Kumar will grace a national seminar on “Differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities: Response to climate change” on July 2 and 3 at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama. The function will commence from 9:00 am. Keynote speakers of the seminar include Sunita Narain, Director, Center for Science and Environment, New Delhi and Rakesh Kalshian, Panos South Asia, Guwahati. Special presentation will be made by Probir Bose, The Climate Project.
Four resign from Congress party
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): Four members from Village Congress Committee (VCC) of Pathso Noking Village under 57th Thonoknyu A/c have resigned from the party and have joint the NPF party. The resigned congress party workers are - Liang, President of VCC Pathso Noking, Pushong, General Secretary Pathso Noking, Hatho, Tresurer, VCC, Pathso Noking, Mongtsoa, Joint Secretary ACC and Niamkoi, DMC Joint Secretary (Mahila). This has been informed here in a press note issued by Liang, President of VCC.
GPRN/NSCN expels one
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): As per the directive of the Chairman S.S Khaplang, one Joseph Anal has been expelled from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) with immediate effect and until further order. His expulsion from the party was necessitated owing to extreme dereliction of duty and subscribing to anti-party activities, stated the MIP, GPRN/NSCN in a press note.
6 AR confiscates 'illegal liquor'
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): On June 19, Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) of 6 Assam Rifles who were screening suspected vehicles plying in between Mon - Tizit Road, seized a total of 456 bottles of liquor, which were smuggled illegally in two Maruti OMNI Regd No AS 23F 5116 and NL 04-4822. The apprehendees with the seized illicit liquor were handed over to Mon Police Station on the same day, informed the PRO of IGAR (N), Maj R P Velu.
Govt places 'Administrative Officers' at Kiphire
Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The State Government has posted 'Administrative Officers' at Kiphire District - one SDO (C), one ADC and one EAC. The USSC in a press note has expressed its contentment over the government’s concern towards the district. However, it still lacks five EACs as per the district status. In this regard, the Conference appeals the Government to post the remaining officers at the earliest. Moreover, it stated that the Department of Health & Family Welfare has provided Ambulance to Amahator and Sitimi PHCs. It assured that by providing the Ambulance, the people of those areas will be benefited and further requested the department to provide the best service. It also appealed the public to access the facilities in a proper manner. Further, "posting of short fall staff "in the health center is urgently required, the note stated.
