Five arrested for stolen motor cycles

Mokokchung, February 16 (MExN): Mokokchung Police Personnel from Changtongya Police Station recovered the three stolen motor cycles in connection with vide CTN/NO 004/12 U/s IPC(1). Pulsar black colour bearing registration number AS04/9868, TVS Suzuki, red colour, bearing registration number AS 03B/2624 and Pulsar, black colour, bearing registration number NL 02E/2267 and in this connection, the five accused persons were arrested. Namely, Takoinba s/o Late Korayanger of Mopungchuket village, Nokchaungsang S/o Marzenba of Sungratsu village, Tiamoa, S/o Late Imnaneken of Changtongya Yimsen village, Bendangtemjen S/o Talikangzuk of Changtongya Village and Olemmeren S/o Imtisosang of Yaongyimsen Village. The accused were forwarded to judicial custody for trial. This was informed in a press release issued by Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung.

AHODs & HODs meeting on Feb 20

Kohima, February 16 (DIPR): A meeting of all Administrative Heads of Departments (AHODs) and Heads of Departments (HODs) will be held on 20th February 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Secretariat Conference Hall. The meeting will deliberate on review of Republic Day Celebration, Co-ordination and participation of Departments, Officers accompanying VIPs on tours, preparation for the forth-coming Budget Session of the Assembly, regularity in office attendance and any other agendas with the permission of the chair. All AHODs and HODs are requested to attend the meeting.

Kohima district TOT on IPPI
Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): District TOT on IPPI under Chief Medical Officers Office was held at PMTI on February 14, 2012. The programme was chaired by Dr.L.Ralte CMO Kohima. A press note stated that the programme was attended by Dy.CMO, DIO, medical staffs. Resource person for the training was Dr. Temsu (S.M.O) deliberating on the importance of polio drops and vail, booth management, sequence of action etc. Practical session on the vaccine was also done with prompt attitude from the participants. The note also mentioned that Vaccinator, GNM's, ANM's were trained as the IPPI day to be on February 19 and the second dose of round on April 1. Altogether 112 participants attended the training.

Peren dist to conduct 1st Round IPPI

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): Along with the rest of the country, Peren District will conduct the 1st Round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) from February 19 to 21, 2012. All the children from 0-5 years will be administered free Polio drops through the Booths on February 19 and house to house coverage on February 20 and 21. In this connection all the parents, community leaders and the public are hereby requested to co-operate by mobilizing children below five years of age to avail two drops of Polio vaccine.

Walling conference on February 24

Kohima, February 16 (DIPR): The Walling Clan of Ao tribe will hold its 9th Conference (Mungdang) at Dimapur on 24th February 2012. Director, Sericulture, Government of Nagaland, Watimongba Walling will be the Chief Guest.  Wapongtemjen from Sungratsu village, Jakjemsungba from Khensa village, Chubatemjen from Khar village, and former Minister, Nagaland, T. Senka from Mekuli village will be the main speaker during the Mungdang to be held.

ATMA Dimapur organiseS training on silkworm rearing

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): ATMA Kuhuboto Block under Dimapur district conducted a training cum Demonstration programme on “Silkworm Rearing and its Importance” on February 14 at APMC hall, Kuhuboto town with Liben, ASO & BTT Member as the Resource Person. Liben mentioned that there are four types of Silkworm namely- Mulberry, Muga, Taser and Eri. Muga is found only in North East India including Nagaland. Eri is the most commonly used species. He stressed on the method of rearing and its economic importance.  Pupa has high nutritional content and is used to control cholesterol level in the human body. The life cycle of Eri is approximately 24 days. Earlier the keynote address was delivered by Toivi Swu , A.O and BTT Convenor (ATMA) Kuhuboto Block,Dimapur andthe training programme was chaired by  Martha Yeptho, SMS (ATMA), Kuhuboto Block.
