Kohima Sumi appeals for peace

Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): “With folded hands” the Kohima Sumi Hoho has appealed to the underground factions to stop their violence and listen to the people. The ‘hoho’ issued a message today denouncing the killing in Kohima today where one NSCN (Khaplang) cadre was killed while a civilian yet again was injured. “With folded hands, the Kohima Sumi Hoho once again appeal to all factions to stop fighting among brothers and work/live hand in hand if we are really bend on making our Nagaland the envy of neighboring states,” the message from the Kohima Sumi Hoho’s leadership stated.  “We have appealed to both the factions to restrain from killing each other especially in Kohima town. On several occasions in this connection, the hoho also met both the factions to comply with our appeal over and above, that such killing will not get us anywhere,” the message stated.  

IRS programme on 20 Feb

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): There will be a state level sensitization programme on Incident Response System (IRS) for disaster management on 20 February at 2 PM in the secretariat conference hall, immediately after the monthly Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of departments meeting. Chief Secretary Lalthara IAS, will be the chief guest for the programme, J.K Sinha, member National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India will address the AHODs/HODs on IRS. All AHODs/HODs are requested to attend the programme positively. This has been informed by Chief Secretary, Lalthara IAS.

NPF 8th Western Angami A/C meet today

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): The NPF party of the 8th Western Angami A/C will hold a general meeting cum picnic on February 18 at Kithu Resort (Between Lalmati and Menguzouma). In this regard, the president Megoneilhu Viyie requested the unit presidents to inform all the NPF members in their wards/villages and attend the same without fail.

Promotion of gender equality through folk arts

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): The department of art & culture in collaboration with NEZCC Dimapur is organizing a programme “ Promotion of gender equality through folk arts” on February 28 at Sekruzu under Phek district at 10:00 AM. Cultural artistes from about 9 to 10 villages of Sekruzu area will be presenting various folk arts during the one day programme. Minister for health & family welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the chief guest.

Rio to inaugurate Kohima village VDB link road

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will inaugurate Kohima village VDB link road constructed under MGNREGS, Ruleizou (IG Stadium) NH-2 to Seithogei NH-29 on February 18 at 1:00 PM. Short speech will be delivered by S. Pangnyu Phom, parliamentary secretary for RD & REPA.

YUD Executive Session on Feb 18

Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): The Yimchunger Union Dimapur (YUD) will convene the Executive Session on February 18, 2012 in its Treasurer’s residence at 10:00am .All the Union Office Bearers and the Executive members have been requested to attend the meeting positively without fail.

Various projects to be inaugurated at Noklak

Kohima, February 17 (MExN): The inauguration of Village Guards (VGs) memorial hall at Pangsha New will be inaugurated on February 23 by Neiphiu Rio, State Chief Minister. It is learned that the public of the area are anxiously waiting for the formal inauguration by the state chief minister. The same day the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the Sub DPB at Noklak ADC Headquarter, this was informed by Hiano, Vice President, 56th NPF Noklak A/C.   On February 24, the inauguration of new upgraded Government High School at Noklak village will be inaugurated by P. Longon, Minister for Soil and Water Conservation and Land Resources Development. Later the new upgraded Government Middle School at Noklak station and opening of Government Primary School Nokyan B Village will also take place on February 24, which would be inaugurated by P. Longon, Minister for Soil and Water Conservation and Land Resources Development. On February 25, the inauguration of EE (PWD) office will take place, which will be inaugurated by P. Longon, Minister for Soil and Water Conservation and Land Resources Development.
