Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): The All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & H Workcharged Employees’ Association has appealed the authority in concern to implement regularisation of work charged employees and revoke State Government Services Revision of Pay (ROP) 1999 rule 2 rules 2 (b) (i).
The association in a press note issued by the president Akou-u Yhome and general secretary Khriesangulie stated the grievances faced by the workcharged employees.
“As per the government standing order memorandum No AR -3/GEN -67/2001 (Pt) dated 22md September 2004 which clearly stated that whenever vacancies arises in the department, 50% of the post will be filled up for the workcharged employees on the basis of seniority and merit and the remaining 50 % will be appointed as per the normal rules of recruitment,” the note stated.
Concerning ROP, the association has requested to revoke the State Government Services Revision of Pay (ROP) 1999 rules 2 (b) (i) and to enhance work charged salary since the prices of essential commodities are very high rate.
“As per the State Government services of Pay (ROP) 1993 in exercise of the power conferred by the provisions of articles (309) of the constitution of India in the name of Governor of Nagaland vide Finance Department (ROP Cell) Notification No. Fin/ROP/20/93 dated 25th November 1993 rules (2) of applicability of rules (ii) it had included all the categories of work charged employees and who have holding post carrying identical pay scales have entitled to get Dearness Allowance and Additional Dearness Allowance (DA/ADA) under rules 7 (a) and (b). However, unfortunately when the State Government Services Revision of pay (ROP) 1999 rules 2 (b) (i), the same has not been brought into force,” the association lamented in the note.
