ANCSU for early settlement of Naga political issue

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has urged the Government of India (GoI) for an early settlement of the long pending Naga political issue while not obliviating the sovereign rights of the Nagas.

In a memorandum addressed to the Nagaland Governor RN Ravi, the ANCSU, drawing the aspiration of the Nagaland colleges’ students, stated that it hoped that the solution should be honorable and acceptable to the Nagas by recognizing and acknowledging the unique political rights of the Nagas.

It stated that the decade long pending Naga political issue has put doubts and fears in the minds of the Nagas, however, “your esteemed self being assigned to address the Naga issue as the Interlocutor and now as the Governor of Nagaland have once again revived the hope of the Nagas for an early settlement.”

It also espoused hope that, “a great nation like India would not deviate from its commitment to solve the Naga issue.”
