CKS urges Higher Edu Directorate to address Sao Chang College issues

Tuensang, March 4 (MExN): The Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS/Chang Tribal Council) today urged the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Nagaland, to address the long-pending issues concerning Sao Chang College, Tuensang “with all genuineness in the larger interest of the aggrieved student community.”

In a letter to the Director, the CKS stated that the Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS/Chang Students' Conference) communicated to its office, on March 2, regarding the next step of agitation, followed by another on March 3 regarding the freezing of government vehicles within its jurisdiction over the non-fulfilment of assurances given by the Minister of Higher Education and the Department concerned.

Accordingly, the CKS said that the Department must be well aware of the grievances as highlighted by the CWS and the student community of Sao Chang College.

"With the CWS pursuing the issue in all genuineness in the greater interest of the student community and their due rights, it is the moral obligation of the CKS to extend its support on their democratic exercise to assert resentment over the failure of the assurance by the Minister and the Department concerned in the form of agitation," it added.

Accordingly, while anticipating an "earliest" solution, the CKS urged the DHE Director to address the matter with all genuineness in the larger interest of the aggrieved student community.
