DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 25 (MExN): The Eros Colony Council (ECC) on Monday announced that it will not encourage nor allow the formation of unions, committees or association within the colony.
A press note issued by ECC chairman, Akusu Zeliang, secretary, Deitho Rhakho and GB (govt) Victo Yeptho said this restriction is being made in common interest to curb anti-social elements and multiple collections which burden building owners/business community/residents in the colony.
It also maintained that formation of such bodies have become today’s lucrative trade for extracting selfish gain through regular/multiple collections thereby causing harassment to business communities and burdening the society.
While considering that there are certain needs to have some genuine platforms to address common grievances such as Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (DCCI) or Business Association of Nagas (BAN) etc, ECC said it failed to comprehend what need exist for every nook and corner to form welfare bodies.
The ECC said it was high time for the people and the government to give serious thoughts over this matter.
