Kohima/Dimapur, September 26 (MExN): In a groundbreaking development for Nagaland’s tourism sector, the Hotel Polo Towers Group has forged a partnership with the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, to introduce the state’s “first-ever” 5-Star properties.
An update from the state IPR stated that this significant agreement encompasses the development of two remarkable projects: a 5-star hotel with a mall in Dimapur and another 5-star hotel in Kohima. Combined, these projects will feature over 200 extravagant rooms.
The estimated total investment value for both projects, both directly and indirectly, stands at a staggering Rs 150 crore, it stated.
Operated under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, these projects will follow the Design, Build, Maintain, Operate, Manage, and Transfer (DBMOMT) approach.
The Dimapur establishment is poised to offer top-notch accommodations, multiple dining options, entertainment centers, and retail outlets, positioning itself as a comprehensive lifestyle destination. In contrast, the Kohima project will prioritize delivering an unparalleled luxury hotel experience catering to both business and leisure travelers. These monumental ventures are set to redefine Nagaland's tourism and economic landscape.
The expected completion timeline for these projects is 3 to 4 years, the report stated.

Further, it stated that as the largest hospitality group in the Northeast, Hotel Polo Towers Group has a robust presence in the region, known for creating and nurturing destinations. “The Group is renowned for setting high standards in hospitality, delivering exceptional service, and enhancing guest experiences. Currently, the Group operates nine hotels with an additional five hotels in development.”
The Tourism Department and Hotel Polo Towers Group have acknowledged Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland, and Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism & Higher Education, Nagaland, for their invaluable wisdom and initiative in establishing a 5-star hotel in the state.
