Hudson rushed to hospital suffering severe stomach pains

Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson was taken to a New York hospital today suffering excruciating stomach pains. Hudson, 29, had just performed a set from her new CD as part of Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in Central Park when she fell ill. A representative for the singer tells Mail Online: 'After performing on Good Morning America earlier today, Jennifer Hudson went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains.'
In that same statement, spokeswoman Lisa Kasteler added: 'She was treated for food poisoning and released.' A second appearance scheduled today for the CBS Early Show was cancelled because of the singer's condition. Before falling ill, Jennifer wowed Good Morning America viewers with her powerful voice. Dressed in a white peasant top, paired with a short, high-waisted black skirt she also showed off her killer legs while belting out the single Where You At from her new CD entitled I Remember Me.
During her sit-down with host Robin Roberts, Jennifer revealed that since her dramatic pound-dropping transformation dressing up has become her favorite thing: 'I’m loving it now more than ever… At night, I can’t even sleep to see what I’m going to wear the next day,' she said. Now 80 pounds lighter, Hudson wants to help others reach their weight loss and earlier this week it was revealed she is writing a diet memoir.
The former American Idol contest will reveal how she finally won her battle with obesity, in the book, which is due out in January of 2012. It's widely known that the singer and actress followed the Weight Watchers plan, as she is one of the company's most successful spokeswomen. However, this book will tackle the reasons behind her initial weight gain, and describe her coping mechanisms for avoiding relapse.
There had been rumours that publishers were only keen to handle a memoir that dealt with the horrific murders of Jennifer's mother, brother and nephew in 2008. But a book that tells the story of the Oscar winner's struggle with weight gain, has finally got the green light. According to a statement from publisher Dutton books: 'The book will chronicle Hudson's experience growing up in an environment where healthy living was not a priority. 'She'll talk about her weight as she competed on American Idol and won her first Oscar, to her eventual decision to get healthy after the birth of her son, and her success losing weight with the help of Weight Watchers.' The mother-of-one has just signed on to appear in a new film about the Three Stooges.
