Man commits suicide in Wokha

The body of a man, on May 21, was found hanging at the window grill of a government quarter near a fishery owned by the state government in Wokha. The district police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Additional SP Wokha, Soriso K Quinker informed The Morung Express that the police received telephonic information around 5:30 am Tuesday at Wokha Police Station regarding one person who hanged himself from a window grill of a government quarter near a government owned fishery area. 

Upon receiving the report, a team led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) rushed to the scene. The deceased, now identified as Innakya Rengma, aged 41, hailing from Tesophenyu PS, Tseminyu and residing in Wokha town is suspected to have committed suicide by tying one end of a rope to the window’s grill and the other around his neck. 

 The Additional SP informed that no evidence of foul play was detected during the investigation. After completion of legal formalities, the deceased's body was handed over to his family members, the police stated.
