Naga Musicians Collective (NMC) in partnership with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) is presenting “Tribute concert” for two days at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima.


It will take place on October 25 and 26 at 5:00 PM.


The concert will feature NMC, DGP Band, East Wind Wood band, Squadron, Linda Solo, Dr.Nicky Kire, Methaneilie Jutakhrie, Alemtemshi Jamir, Dr. Kethoser Kevichiisa, Narola  Jati etc.


Addressing a press conference here October 14 at Hotel Japfu, NMC advisor Vipopal Kintso said that the concert aim to recognize and honour the contribution of the past musicians in the music industry in Nagaland.


Kintso, who is also the convenor of the Tribute Concert said that those yester musicians have not been given enough opportunity to really excel and make a living out of music.


In this, he said that NMC want to recognize the departed musicians in a befitting manner during “Tribute Concert.”


Kintso said that NMC will also be instituting annual award for excellence in music 2019, which will be given away during tribute concert.


Vilone Sakhrie said that the NMC also aim to organize annual music festival for bands in Nagaland.


In the early part of 2019, the NMC sponsored Ato Nienu during launching of his debut album.


NMC press & publicity incharge Pfuche Koza on behalf of the NMC & the organising committee called upon the families of the departed musicians & the music lovers in general to come & join in paying tribute to the departed musicians.


The general ticket for the concert is priced at Rs. 200 (Admit one) and donor at Rs.  2000 (Admit 2) per day. The same have been made available at Symphony School of Music, Unitex, Dream Cafe, Popular Bakery, Kiwi Store, Seluoba Bakery, Sports Inventory and Music Garage, Kohima.

About Naga Musicians Collective


NMC president Andrew Ngully informed that NMC, a confluence of personalities from the musicians of the 80s, is a society with a strong passion for all genre of music.


Currently, NMC has 33 members.


With the aim to bolster the music culture in the state, NMC endeavours to organize music festivals within and outside the state, to promote a variety of music genres, promote talented and upcoming musicians in Nagaland, provide artistes with assured routes to music industries and facilitate manual dexterity to set up and control production equiptments such as sound, lighting staging etc.


Though NMC was formed during 2009, it envisions to launch its first major programme by organizing a Tribute Concert during 2019 in memory of those contemporaries who have left before them.
