GPRN/NSCN Angami 
Region cautions

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN Angami Region has taken note that some public, groups, defectors and individuals are “seeking donation, contribution, collection of tax especially from bureaucrats, contractors, public etc claiming to be members of the organization.” In this regard, a press release issued by Sabu Sote stated that this is “hindering mutual understanding and co-operation” and giving “immense problem to the public.” It cautioned “its region staff not to seek for financial help without prior permission from the Regional Administrative Officer. Such shall be dealt sternly as per the yehzabo.” It also state that the sale of intoxicants such as drugs, alcohols, gutkas, talab etc under Angami jurisdiction will be banned and any individual shops found selling such items will face severe punishment.

LJP (RV) Phek District refutes report

Phek, April 17 (MExN): In regard to the press statement issued by the 18th Chozuba PDA Election Committee on April 16, the LJP (RV), Phek District President, Vevotso Medeo has clarified that the committee has “never invited LIP (RV) party to any of its Lok Sabha Election related activities neither at the constituency level nor at the district level, and hence, the anti-party activities do not arise.”  While refuting the allegations against the activities of LJP (RV) party led by the ex-Speaker, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, Medeo stated that “contrarily, the main supporters of Kuducho Khamo, MLA & Convenor of the so called 18th Chozuba PDA Election Committee, were seen to be actively campaigning for the other candidates in the constituency and in the district.” Hence, instead of leveling “unfounded allegations against others while ignoring the obvious flaws internally,” it said, “so-called PDA Election Committee should first abhor the self-righteous hypocrite, control the fallout of his own supporters and refrain from shifting the blame to others.”

‘No proxy voting’ under 
Midland Panchayat Kohima

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The Midland Panchayat Kohima has resolved that during the forthcoming Lok Sabha (MP) election 2024, “No proxy voting will be entertained.” As per guideline from the Election Commission of India “one man one vote” will be strictly adhered to. Outsiders and non-voters shall be prohibited in the polling stations in order to check and avoid unnecessary confrontation or problems, it resolved during the meeting held on April 15. The meeting was attended by Midland Panchayat Executives, Officials, GBs, Midland Youth Organisation, Midland Women Organisation and the sector representatives in its meeting at the panchayat (GMS) where it also resolved to “oversee and monitor the smooth conduct of election in the ward. This was stated in a press release issued by Midland Panchayat Chairman, Kopelo Krome and General Secretary Toso Thaprü.

NNC, FGN meeting

Kohima, April 17 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will be held on April 29 at 10:00 am in Transit Peace Camp (TPC): Kohima. Therefore all the Central Authorities, Regional Authorities, Naga Army Officers and eligible national workers of the NNC/FGN are requested to positively attend the Meeting. This was stated by Capt. (Retd.) Yirei Lungleng, Rali Wali Kilonser, Federal Government of Nagaland.
