Noklak police receives SKOCH Gold Award

Dimapur, June 8 (MExN): Noklak district police has been conferred the SKOCH Gold Award in Police and Safety for fighting drugs and insurgency with education and livelihood. Khumeng, Noklak Police and Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, former SP Noklak received the award during the ceremony held in New Delhi on May 27 last. 

Dr Batra, under whose leadership the various life-changing programmes were initiated in the young district on the Indo-Myanmar border, had earlier informed that 480 drugs dependents have been taught livelihood skills so far in collaboration with Noklak ITEC and Noklak Police Church. 

The recognition also includes the Noklak Police’s initiatives in providing coaching classes for UPSC/NPSC aspirants, establishment of Science museum, Library, education world, computer labs in Noklak, launching of Food processing unit, Taste of Noklak Society and its products, Noklak masterpieces handicraft products launch, drug dependents and their rehabilitation along with livelihood training.

A DIPR report stated that SKOCH Gold Award recognises people, projects, and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. It is considered the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organization.
