NTC supports probe into education dept

DIMAPUR, MARCH 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has come out in support of the Nagaland State Governor’s order for an inquiry into corruption in the School Education Department. A press note from the NTC said that the Education Department is “infested with series of mismanagements,” including non-release of teachers’ salary, not providing requisite teaching staff to Government schools, misappropriation of Midday Meals, etc. “It does not mean that corruption in other departments is tolerable, and yet such degree of mismanagements in human resource department such as education has serious impact on the wellbeing of our children. The Education Department may not be realizing how such scams can ruin the career of lakhs of our children which is a matter of serious concern for all,” the NTC said. The NTC reiterated the Governor’s call urging the concerned authority to immediately begin “cleansing the systems which have been in shambles for years.”
