Professional development prog on research held in Immanuel College

Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): A professional development programme on research methodology & research writing was organised by the Research & Journal Committee, Immanuel College for the faculty members on March 30. The objective of the programme was to help the faculty members gain in-depth knowledge about research methodology and research writing as it is the need of the hour and is also necessary for those who are a part of higher education.

Dr Patrick Praveen Dukpa, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, St Joseph University, Chümoukedima was the resource person. The programme had two technical sessions on research methodology and research writing. In his presentations, the resource person highlighted the importance of research and the proper means and ways to go about it. He added that research should be something which should be taken up as a challenge and not just something that one should do for the sake of the title. It should always be a systematic, logical, unbiased and a verifiable process. He also emphasized on the importance of reading and reviewing extensively as an important tool for research writing.

The programme was chaired by Gwesy Michuing Asst Prof, Dept of English, welcome address was delivered by Th Sharatchandra Singh, Principal, Immanuel College, Dimapur and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Jichule Seb, Convenor, Research & Journal Committee Immanuel College.
