16 houses gutted by fire in Dimapur

A fire outbreak in Netaji colony, Dimapur caused the destruction of 16 homes during the middle of the day on April 18. The fire which had erupted first from one of the residential houses spread to the other adjoining buildings as they were built in a compact area of the locality. 
 

A total of five fire trucks were deployed into action to combat the inferno, stated an official from Fire Station Central, Dimapur. The fire was estimated to have started around 12 noon based on the call, received at 12:24 pm, by the Fire Station. 
 

There were about 6-7 gas cylinder explosions, although no loss of life was reported during the course of the incident. At the time of filing this report, officials were yet to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
