The Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) Nagaland today commemorated one year completion of Modi 2.0 Government.


Held at the State BJP Office in Kohima, Y Patton, Deputy Chief Minister and Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs addressed a press conference where they also launched the month long event commemoration program.


Patton briefly highlighted the achievements of Modi 2.0 where he stated that in continuation with the welfare-oriented policies of Modi 1.0 government, the second tenure has ensured the commitment or 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' in protecting and preserving the unity of the nation. According to Patton, these welfare oriented policies has ensured a more self-reliant India. “The Modi Government remains dedicated to unforeseen and multifaceted development of India,” said Patton.


In the present pandemic crisis, Patton noted that the Modi Government approached the challenges posed by "coronavirus pro-actively and fought the pandemic with the help of public participation by winning public trust and involving public in the fight."


Temjen Imna Along updated on the activities to be carried out during the month long commemoration. "The government chose not to call it a celebration but only a commemoration because the whole world is suffering from the pandemic and on solidarity with the people of the country, frontline workers, administration and uniformed personnel," said Along who assured that the government will continue to serve the marginalised and unempowered people.


"In the month long commemoration, the BJP Nagaland will be giving out at least 50,000 face masks and sanitizers to all 60 constituencies of Nagaland. We will be having atleast 100 virtual rallies starting from the Ministers, State officer bearers, state district presidents and various branches under BJP," said Along, adding that the letters of Modi will be translated in all languages through print as well virtually circulated. During the pandemic crisis, Along pointed out that the party will continue to serve the people who are "deprived during the pandemic especially the stranded returnees, poor workers who are not able to meet their daily needs.”


“Through these times all of us will try to do our best to serve the people of Nagaland. That is what the Modi government one year achievements will be adhered to by practicing austerity, and by also practicing to give to the people much more than ourselves,” said Temjen Imna Along. With the impacts of the pandemic being witnessed across the country, the legislator implored all to work towards a the Atma Nirbhat (self reliant) Nagaland. 


During the press conference, Khehovi Yepthomi urged the citizens of Nagaland to unite and spread love and understanding during the pandemic crisis. "No one is prepared for this. There may be shortfalls but let is forget and forgive. It is time that we need to cooperate with one another," said Yepthomi assuring that the government is giving its best in addressing the pandemic and its impact.


"Whatever we have, we are trying to do our best. We are from the same family. Let us forget about tribe and help each other fight and defeat this pandemic," stated Yepthomi.
