CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Gen. (Retd) M B Neokpao Konyak, Chairman, GPRN/NSCN

Two thousand years ago, God the Father chose a little town of Bethlehem in Judea country; a virtuous virgin girl Mary and her betrothed humble carpenter Joseph; a small Manger with a Heavenly Star above, fulfilled a thousand years promise foretold by the Prophets, Our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus was born to save us from the bondage of sin and death. He is the Messiah, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! In mild, humble and lowly environment, our King was born!

Beloved Nagas, from the human point of view, King Herod was adamant that the rumoured new king be identified and brought before him so that he too can worship Him. Deep inside he was seething in anger and fear at the thought of a newborn baby replacing him as king of Judea Country. Such was and is the wickedness of leaders then and even today, two thousand years later! This is the crisis today among the Nagas. Do we say one good thing and do exactly opposite evil deed?  Have we crowned ourselves wisest and powerful? The wisdom of God work in inexplicable ways and therefore let us all bow before our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in repentance. God's plan for you and I individually and for our Nation is always in His mighty hands. He is the path breaker and history maker.

This Christmas, I wish all our citizens the same joy and happiness experienced by the shepherds tending to their sheep in the hills that Holy Night two thousand years ago. May we experience the choir of Heavenly Angels in our hearts. May the new year ahead be a bountiful one with abundance and rich blessings from the Lord.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
