Mokokchung, October 5 (MExN):  The two-day international conference on environmental humanities in the Anthropocene Era: Ecojustice and Sustainability (ICAHAE) organized at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung by Department of English and Department of Geography on October 4 and 5 concluded with a valedictory session at Conference Hall, FAC.

The conference was organised in collaboration with Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE) & LEMSACHENLOK, Longleng and sponsored by Internal Quality Assurance Cell, FAC.

In the valedictory session, Dr E Benrithung Patton, Asst Professor, Department of Political Science, gave the concluding remark said that there is plenty to reflect upon in the themes of the conference and further said that individual and collective contributions can be made to meeting the global anthropocene challenges. He summarized the conference themes and said that “it is time to move in a direction forward that will help us to deliver together on our shared goals, to achieve full curability of sustainable living, community engagement and unearth truths ideas that can illuminate new paths of enquiry.”

Dr Pankaj Thapa, Freelance Academician and researcher, Kanglung, Bhutan also gave an observational remark where he appreciated the professionalism in the way the conference has been organized and said that conferences should not be just an academic routine but continue with research works and work on how we can disseminate the research findings to the grassroot level. 

Dr Y Nuklu Phom, Team Leader, LEMSACHENLOK, Longleng, gave a way forward, where he encouraged the institute to create fostering relevant practical scholarship and focus on integrating traditional learning values in the educational system and to set up sustainable and advanced research study centres that will help in income generation and also helping the community.
