Exodus of young Nagas a harbinger of predicament

The COVID-19 pandemic indeed is relentlessly precipitated leaving behind in its path a blazing trail of trauma, tremor and terrifying nightmares for many across the state sounding an alarm that Nagaland is no exception for its invading army of pestilence. It is also proved beyond doubt that Corona virus is non-native to our State.

Nonetheless, this abominable hydra monster reared its ugly head by late March 2020. The first case of Corona positive was detected on the test conducted on some returnees on arrival by train at Dimapur ie 23rd March 2020.

Thenceforth the outbreak took an unabated upsurge in positive cases every passing day. Tests were delayed and eventually the quarantine Centres became a hotspot for Corona virus. Thus giving birth to its virtual habitat for incubation.

It would be costly if not forestalled promptly by strategic measures such as mentoring advocacy for social obligations and practice of pragmatic and proactive lifestyle with utmost restraint from any objectionable activities.

An honest approach to defined health guidelines, SOP and other protocols will go a long way to mitigate or address this issue. Any or all updates should be considered beneficial in this respect.

Despite many a lockdown imposed from time to time the citizens are expected to stay calm and orderly even as the world is inching towards vaccine development in the immediate future. Well! The show must go on ! May all the good sense prevail over our land!
