My comforter, my sustainer;
My strength, my shield;
In Thee I find my refuge.
Nay, I shan’t put on no veil;
Nay, I shan’t change my colour,
Yea, I’ll stop pretending,
For my Creator knows me as I am.
I lay myself late awake,
For sleep is but, miles away.
In the land of morrow and sorrow.
But I look at Thy cross;
The Lamb that was slain,
And all my pain in vain..
For my peace was found;
At that Cross where
The Son was slain.
